381 2d day of December 1851. State of Maryland Dorset County to wit To all whom it may concern be it known that I Mary Ennalls of Dorchester County in the state of Maryland for divers good causes and considerations me thereunto moving have released from slavery, liberated manumitted and and set free and by these presents do hereby release from slavery, liberate manumit and set free my negro man named Levin Jolly being of the age of forty years and able to work and gain a sufficient livelihood and maintenance and him the said Levin Jolly I do declare to be henceforth free manumitted and discharged from all manner of service or servitude to me my executors and administrators forever. In testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this 2d day of December A. D. 1851 Witness E. C. Sulivane Mary Ennalls (Seal) James Rea State of Maryland Dorchester County to Wit: Be it remembered and it is hereby Certified that on this 2d day of December A. D. 1851 Before the subscriber a justice of the peace of the state of Maryland in and for Dorchester County aforesaid personally appears Mary Ennalls she being known to me to be the person who is named and discribed as and professing to be the party to the foregoing Deed of Manumission and doth acknowledge the said indenture or Instrument of writing to be his act and deed; In testimony whereof I hereto set my hand and seal on the day and year aforsaid James Rea Richard K. Conner Know all men by these presents that I Exd from certify That the following Bill of sale was James W. Connor received and recorded on the 8th day of December Paid 1851. Know all men by these presents that I James W Conner of Dorchester County for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and seventy four dollars and thirty five Cents Current money to me in hand paid by Richard R Conner of the County of Ann Arundel at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt of which I do hereby acknowledge and myself to be therewith fully satisfied contented and paid I the said James W Connor have granted, bargained, sold, conveyed and transfered and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, convey and transfer unto the said Richard R. Conner his heirs and assigns, the following personal property Goods and Chattels to wit: one sorrel Horse one Horse Cart and harness one wood Cart three Cows fifty barrels of Corn More or less, one Plow, one harrow, one saddle and bridle, four Beds, Bedsteads and furniture, Three thousand pounds of Blade Fodder, More or less fifteen hundred pounds of top Fodder more or less two Doz chairs, five Tables, one bureau, two |
