and acknowledged the above and aforegoing bill of sale to be his act &
deed, and delivered the same for the uses and purposes therein mentioned.
And the said Samuel W. LeCompte and Ezekiel R. Hooper, parties Mortgagee
in the aforegoing bill of sale make Oath that the consideration mentioned
and in the said Mortgage bill of sale is true and bona fide as

Polish G. Mills              Be it remembered that the following Bill of
65      from      Ex.d      Sale was recorded on the 12.th day of June 1848.
W.m M. Robinson        {Stamp}    Know all men by these presents that I,
                                   {one dol.}   William M. Robinson, of Dorchester
County state of Maryland, Administrator of Samuel Griffin, late
of Dorchester County, dece.d, for and in consideration of the sum of
six hundred and two dollars, current money, to him in hand
paid by Polish G. Mills of the County and State aforesaid, the
receipt whereof I hereby acknowledge, have granted, bargained &
sold, and delivered unto the said Polish G. Mills, his heirs and
Assigns, two Negro Boys, William and George, aged, William
about 8 years, George aged about 6 years, slaves for life, to
him and his heirs and Assigns, the within named Boys, William
and George as slaves for life:   To have and to hold the said Negroes
Wm & George, as slaves for life, to the said Polish G. Mills, his
heirs and Assigns, against me and all persons claiming under the
above named Samuel Griffin.   In testimony whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and seal this this 12.th day of June A. D. 1848.

Dorchester County, State of Maryland, To wit:   on this 12.th day of June
1848, personally appeared before me the subscriber, one of the Justices of the
Peace and for the County and State aforesaid, W.m M. Robinson Adm.r
of Sam.l Griffin and Acknowledged the above instrument of writing to be
his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned & expressed, according
to the Act of Assembly in such case made & provided, according to the
Act of Assembly                                                   Charles Corkran

At the same time & place personally appeared before me the subscriber
one of the Justices of the Peace for Dorchester County & State of Maryland,
Polish G Mills and made Oath on the Holy Evangely of
Almighty God that the consideration set forth in the above Bill of
sale is true and bona fide as therein set forth.
