Ch. 89                                      1994 LAWS OF MARYLAND

[14-505.

The Board may waive the requirements of § 14-502, § 14-503, or § 14-504 of this
subtitle if the Board finds that:

(1) the procurement is essential or in the best interests of the State; and

(2) there is no other known source for the procurement at a reasonable
cost.]                 

[14-506.

A bidder or offeror may not misrepresent any information contained in the
certification required under this subtitle.]

[14-507.] 14-503.

A bidder or offeror who willfully violates any provision of this subtitle is guilty of a
misdemeanor and on conviction is subject to a fin
e not exceeding $1,000 or imprisonment
not exc
eeding 3 months.                                                   

SECTION. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1994.
           

SECTION 2. 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the provisions of any
law, ordinance, rule, regulation, policy, or other trade or economic sanction or
prohibition against the Republic of South Africa of a county, incorporated municipality,
or local board of education of the State shall be abrogated and of no further force and
effect without the necessity of further action by the General Assembly or a local
governing body or board of education.

SECTION 3. 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act is an
emergency measure, is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health and
safety, has been passed by a yea and nay vote supported by. three-fifths of all the members
elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly, and shall take effect from the
date it is enacted.

AN ACT concerning

Social Workers - Waiver of Examination

FOR the purpose of extending the time the Board of Social Work Examiners may waive
the examination requirements for certain applicants for a certified social
worker-clinical license; making this Act an emergency measure; and generally
relating to waiver of examinations for social workers.
