MONTGOMERY COUNTY
AN ACT to:
(1) PROVIDE FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS ACT;
(1) (2) require PROVIDE FOR the County Executive to USE HIS
BEST EFFORTS TO contract with an insurer to provide
to any citizen of Montgomery County catastrophic
health insurance AT NO COST OR LIABILITY TO THE
COUNTY;
(2) (3) require the County Executive to inform citizens of
the availability to purchase the insurance;
(4) REQUIRE THE COUNTY EXECUTIVE TO PROVIDE OVERSIGHT;
(3) (5) define certain terms;
(6) PROHIBIT THE COUNTY FROM MAKING ANY CONTRIBUTION FOR
INSURANCE;
(4)(7) (6) provide that the insurance will not BE REQUIRED TO
cover pre-existing medical conditions; and
(8) (7) PROVIDE THAT THE COUNTY IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY ACTIONS
OF THE INSURER CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF AN ARRANGEMENT
FOR INSURANCE, AND THE INSURER MUST BEAR THE COST OF
ALL CLAIMS AND INDEMNIFY THE COUNTY AGAINST ALL
CLAIMS; AND
(5)(9) (8) provide for regulations.
