(iii) 2 shall be representatives of nonprofit
housing organizations; and

(iv) 2 shall be public members.

(3)  The Governor shall appoint the board members with
the advice and consent of the Senate.

(4)  Board members shall be residents of the State who
represent the different regions of the State.

(5)  The Secretary of the Department of Economic and
Community Development or the Secretary's designee shall sit as an
ex officio, nonvoting member of the board.

(c)  The term of office of each member of the board shall be
3 years except that 3 of the members first appointed, as
designated by the Governor when first appointed, shall serve for
a term of 1 year and 3 shall serve for a term of 2 years. Each
member of the board shall continue to serve until a successor has
been appointed. Any vacancy occurring on the board during the
term of any member shall be filled by the Governor for the
remainder of the unexpired term. A member may not be reappointed
to more than 2 consecutive terms immediately following that
member's initial term.

(d)  (1) The Governor shall select from among the voting
members of the board a chairperson, who shall serve for 3 years.
Thereafter the board shall annually elect a chairperson from
among its voting members.

(2)  From among its members, the board shall elect
officers including a secretary and a treasurer.

(3)  The board shall meet at least 4 times during each
calendar year.

(e)  Each member of the board is entitled to reimbursement
for expenses comparable to the Standard State Travel Regulations.

(f)  A member of the board may be removed by a majority of
the board for malfeasance in office, for persistent neglect of or
inability to discharge duties, or for offenses involving moral
turpitude.

(g)  The board's meetings shall be open to the public except
that a meeting may be closed as permitted under § 10-508 of the
State Government Article.

13-606.

(a) To the extent consistent with the provisions of this
subtitle, the Corporation shall exercise the powers of a nonstock
