JOINT RESOLUTIONS

(House Joint Resolution No. 82)

A House Joint Resolution concerning

Acquisition of Land - Caroline County

FOR the purpose of requesting the Department of Natural
Resources to assist the County Commissioners of
Caroline County in their acquisition, by condemnation
or otherwise, of the Linchester Mill and Lake for a
public recreation area.

WHEREAS, The County Commissioners of Caroline County
desire to acquire the Linchester Mill and Lake as a public
recreation area; and

WHEREAS, The Department of Natural Resources may be
able to assist the County Commissioners of Caroline County
in their acquisition of the Linchester Mill and Lake by
condemnation or otherwise; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That the
Department of Natural Resources is requested to assist the
County Commissioners of Caroline County in their
acquisition, by condemnation or otherwise, of the Linchester
Mill and Lake for a public recreation area; and be it
further

RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be sent to the
County Commissioners of Caroline County.

A Commission to Study the Judicial Branch of Government

FOR the purpose of requesting the appointment of a
commission to study the Judicial Branch of Government.

WHEREAS, The Governor's Commission on Judicial Reform,
appointed in 1972, performed valuable studies and made
important recommendations in the area of judicial reform, a
number of which recommendations were adopted; and

WHEREAS, As Chief Judge Robert C. Murphy noted in his
1981 State of the Judiciary Address to the General Assembly
of Maryland, to "achieve the effective administration of
justice under the conditions of the 1980's, within finite
