(As enacted by Chapter 509 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of 1979)

Preamble

WHEREAS, In Chapter 509 of the Acts of 1979 the General
Assembly enacted certain amendments to Article 41, Section
359A, Annotated Code of Maryland, the effectiveness of said
amendments to be contingent upon approval by nine of the
party states to the Southern Interstate Nuclear Compact of
the Compact changes indicated in Chapter 509, and contingent
on a proclamation from the Governor declaring that Chapter
509 is valid and effective; and

WHEREAS, The provisions of Chapter 509 have not yet
been made effective by the necessary proclamation of the
Governor; and

WHEREAS, It is the intent of the General Assembly to
abolish the Advisory Commission on Atomic Energy by
repealing Article 41, Section 359A.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:
