AN ACT concerning
Hall of Records Commission - Membership
FOR the purpose of changing the membership of the Hall of
Records Commission by adding and deleting certain
persons and providing that certain members may
designate alternates.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 54 - Hall of Records
Section 1
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1972 Replacement Volume and 1978 Supplement)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
be repealed, amended, or enacted to read as follows:
Article 54 - Hall of Records
1.
There is hereby created as part of the Department of
General Services a Commission to be known as the Hall of
Records Commission, which shall be composed of the Secretary
of General Services, the State Comptroller, THE STATE
TREASURER, A MEMBER OF THE SENATE, AS APPOINTED BY THE
PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE, A MEMBER OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,
AS APPOINTED BY THE SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE, the Chief Judge of
the Court of Appeals, the president of The Johns Hopkins
University OR HIS DESIGNATED ALTERNATE, THE PRESIDENT OF THE
UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND OR HIS DESIGNATED ALTERNATE, the
president of St. John's College OR HIS DESIGNATED ALTERNATE,
AND the president of the Maryland Historical Society [and
the president of the board of trustees of the Peabody
Institute of Baltimore]. The members of said Commission
shall serve without compensation, but shall be reimbursed
for expenses incurred while actually engaged in the
performance of their duties in accordance with the standard
travel regulations.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1979.
