House Bill No. 774 - State Debt - Baltimore County Jail
AN ACT concerning
Creation of a State Debt — Baltimore County Jail
FOR the purpose of authorizing the creation of a State
Debt in the amount of $4,000,000, the proceeds to be
used to assist in the construction and equipping of
a new Baltimore County Jail Facility, subject to the
requirement that Baltimore County provide at least
an equal and matching sum for the same purpose; and
providing generally for the issue and sale of bonds
evidencing the loan.
May 26, 1977
Honorable John Hanson Briscoe
Speaker of the House of Delegates
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404
Dear Mr. Speaker:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill
774.
This bill authorizes a $4,000,000 State debt to
assist in constructing and equipping a Baltimore County
Jail Facility.
Senate Bill 75, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by lieutenant Governor Blair Lee III
in his capacity as Acting Governor on May 26, 1977,
accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore it is unnecessary for me to sign House
Bill 774.
