(Senate Bill 678) AN ACT concerning Clerks — Liquor License Fees FOR the purpose of altering the clerk's fee for issuing
liquor licenses; and clarifying language. BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments, Article 2B — Alcoholic Beverages Section 63(a), (c), (e), (f) and (o) Annotated Code of Maryland (1976 Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement)
SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 63(a), (c), (e), (f) and (o) of
Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages, of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1976 Replacement Volume and 1976 Supplement)
be and they are hereby repealed and reenacted, with
amendments, to read as follows: Article 2B — Alcoholic Beverages 63. (a) Except as otherwise provided in this section,
the clerk shall [forthwith] remit all license fees
collected by him, less a fee of [one dollar ($1.00)] $2
for the issuance of each license, to the board of county
commissioners for the county, or to the mayor and city
council of Baltimore, as the case may be; and [said] THE
board of county commissioners or mayor and city council
of Baltimore shall use [such] THE portion of [such] THE
receipts as may be necessary to pay refunds as
hereinafter provided, and devote the balance to the
general purposes of the county or city, as the case may
be. (c) In Anne Arundel County, the clerk of the
Circuit Court for [said] THE county shall [forthwith]
remit to the City of Annapolis, all license fees
collected by him where the place of business is located
in [said] THE city, and to the [Board of County
Commissioners of Anne Arundel County] COUNTY if the place
of business is located outside of the City of Annapolis,
less the fee of [one dollar ($1.00) ] $2 for the issuance
of each license. The [Board of County Commissioners]
COUNTY shall pay from [such] THE receipts the salaries
and expenses of the board of license commissioners of the
county, and of its employees as approved by the State
Comptroller, and shall devote the balance of [such] THE
receipts to the general purposes of the county, and the
City of Annapolis shall devote [such] THE receipts to the
general purposes of the city.
