374) Be it Remembered That on the thirtyeth day of Aprill in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty five came the within mentioned Edward Dorsey Son of John before us two of the Justices of the Peace for Baltimore County and acknowledged the within Deed to be his act and the Land and Premises therein mentioned to be the Estate and Right of the within Named Edward Dorsey Son of Edw.d of John and his Heirs according to the intent and Effect of the same Deed taken and certified according to act of assembly the day and year above mentioned by us Ab.m V.n Bibber Lyde Goodwin Baltimore County to wit I hereby Certify that Abraham Van Bibber and Lyde Goodwin Gentlemen before whom the foregoing acknowledgment was made and who have thereto subscribed their Names were at the day of the date thereof and still are two Justices of the Peace in and for the County aforesaid and to all certificates by then given as such due faith and credit is and ought to be given as well in Courts of Justice as thereout In Testimony whereof I have hereto set my Hand and Seal of my office this Eighteenth day of May Seventeen hundred and Eighty five William Gibson Clk B Coty (Seal) 7½ sides Recorded this 20.th day of Mary 1785 Ex.d & Del.d This Indenture made the Sixteenth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty five Between Daniel Carroll of Baltimore County Merchant of the one part and Charles Carroll of Carrollton Esquire of the City of Annapolis of the other part Whereas Charles Croxall late of Baltimore County deceased by his last Will and Testament bearing date on or about the twenty seventh day of December one thousand seven hundred and seventy six did authorise and impower his Executors to Convey in Fee Simple to the said Daniel Carroll four hundred Acres of Land on Hunting Ridge on the South west side of the Main Road leading from Baltimore Town to Ellicotts Upper Mills and in Case there should not be so much Land belonging to the said Charles Croxall on the South west side of the said Road West the deficiency should be made up and conveyed by his said Executors out of the upper end of a Tract of Land called Cordwainer Hall adjoining On Condition that the said Daniel Carroll should convey and make over in Fee Simple the House and Lott with the Improvements thereon situate in Market Street in baltimore Town wherein he lately resided unto his said Executors And Whereas the said Daniel Carroll hath already Conveyed the said House and Lott according to the directions in the Will of the said Charles Croxall mentioned and is therefore intitled in Equity to a good and indefeazable Estate in Fee simple to the said four hundred Acres of Land and hath been put in the peaceable and quiet possession thereof and still occupied the said Lands but hath received as yet no conveyance for the same And Whereas the said Daniel Carroll stands justly indebted to the aforesaid Charles Carroll of Carrollton in the Sum of four hundred and Eighty five Pounds |
