35 On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus endorsed viz.t Maryland fs.t On the 20.th day of November 1782 Came before the Subscriber One of the Judges of the General Court the within Named Clement Hollyday Nathaniel Ramsey and Gabriel Duvall & Acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be their Act & deed & the Land & premises therein mentioned to be the right title & Estate of the Within Named Daniel Jenifer his heirs & Assigns forever According to the True intent & meaning thereof & the Act of Assembly in Such Case made and provided A C Hanson Recorded 25th April 1783 Ex.d Know all men by these presents That we George Scott John Darnall and John Chisholm all of Frederick County are held and firmly bound unto the State of Maryland in the Just and full Sum of Twenty five thousand Pounds current money to be paid to the Said State To which payment well and truly to be made and done We Jointly and Severally bind ourselves Our Heirs Executors and Administrators firmly by these presents In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our Hands and seals this 28th day of January 1783 The Condition of the above Obligation of Such that if the above bound George Scott Shall well and faithfully execute and perform the Several duties required of him as Collector of the Tax for Frederick County according to Law Then the Above Obligation to be void else to Remain in full force Signed Sealed and Delivered George Scott (Seal) in the presence of us John Darnall (Seal) 1½ sides Willm Beall John Chisholm (Seal) John Nolum ½ Thomas Hawkins Roger Johnson Recorded 29 Ap.l 1783 Ex.d This Indenture made this twentieth day of November in the Year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty two Between Clement Holliday Nathaniel Ramsey and Gabriel Duvall Commissioners appointed to preserve Confiscated British property of the One part and James Tootell and Joseph Douson of Ann Arundel County Merchants of the Other part Whereas the Aforesaid Commissioners by an Act for the Sale of Certain Confiscated British Property Pledged for the Redemption of Certificates And an act entitled an Act to Postpone the Sale of Certain confiscated British Property for the Redemption of Certificates were directed to lay off Monococy Manor in Frederick County in Convenient Lotts And the Same to sell at Public Sale and the said Commissioners did by virtue and In pur Suance of the said Acts and in Conformity to the Directions thereof Sell the Same on the Tenth day of September Last past at which Date the aforesaid James Tootell and Joseph Douson became the Purchasers of Lots Number Forty eight and Seventy parts of Said Manor they being the highest Bidders therefor at and for the Sum of One Thousand and Thirty Pounds Current money for Lot number Forty eight and the Sum of Five hundred and Seventy five Pounds for Lott Number Seventy Now this Indenture Witnesseth That the aforesaid Clement Holliday Nathaniel Ramsey and Gabriel Duvall for and in Consideration of the aforesaid Sums of Money Amounting to the |
