190 Ex.d dl.d & p.d Barbados Know all men by these presents that we Philip Lytcott and Thomas Maxwell of the Parish Saint Michael and Island abovesaid Merchants have made and ordained and by these presents do make ordain constitute authorise and appoint our trusty and loveing friend William Potts Esquire of the State of Maryland in America to be our true certain and lawful Attorney for us and in our names and to and for proper use and behoof to ask demand levy sue for recover and receive by all lawful ways and means whatsoever of and from all and every person and persons whatsoever whom it doth shall or may concern all and every such sum and sums of money debts dues goods effects and things whatsoever which now are or hereafter shall grow due owing payable or belonging unto us the said Philip Lytcott and Thomas Maxwell as aforesaid from Timothy Pierce Mariner of the State of Rhode Island in America or from all and every person or persons residing in America upon or by virtue of any bond bill book or upon account of trading or dealing or upon any other Account and by any other ways or means whatsoever in any manner of wise and if need to be call to account and to bring to reckoning and to adjust and settle accounts with all or any person or persons concerned in the premises and upon receipt or recovery of all or any such sum or sums of Money debts dues goods effects or other things or any part thereof sufficient acquittances and discharges for us and in our names from time to time to make and give Giving and by these presents granting unto our said Attorney full power and authority in and touching the premises to sue pursue arrest attach sieze sequester implead imprison condemn and prosecute and thence and thereof again to acquit or discharge and out of person to release also for us to appear and our persons to represent in all or any Court or Courts or other places as demandant or defendant in any suit action or appeal for or by reason of the premises likewise Attorney or Attorneys under us to set substitute and again to revoke and generally to do act and perform all other matters and things in and touching the premises requisite and necessary as fully as we might or could do were we personally present And we do hereby promise to ratify and confirm all and whatsoever our said Attorney or his substitute shall legally do or procure to be done in and touching the premises In witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and Seals this twenty fourth day of January one thousand seven hundred and Eighty four Sealed and delivered in the presence of Phil Lytcott (Seal) Oden Whitehouse Nath.l Winter Thomas Maxwell (Seal) On the back of the aforegoing instrument of writing was thus endorsed to wit Maryland On the 13.th day of March 1784 Oden Whitehouse appeared before the Subscriber one of the Judges of the General Court and made oath that Philip Lytcott and Thomas Maxwell did seal and deliver the within deed or power of Attorney in the presence of him the said Oden Whitehouse and Nathaniel Winter the two Witnesses who have thereunto subscribed their names 5 sides A C Hanson Recorded 18.th March 1784 |
