463) act or acts Deed or Deeds assurance or assurances for the further better and more effectual conveying and assuring the said Land with the appurtenances to the aforesaid Charles Carroll his Heirs and Assigns as he or they shall be requisite so that any such Act Deed or Assurance contain in itself no further or other warranty or covenant than is contained herein In Witness whereof the parties to these presents have hereunto interchangeably set their Hands and affixed their Seals the day and year first above written Oliver Cromwell (seal) Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of Charles Carroll of Carolton (seal) Samuel Chase George Adams Th.s Johnson Jun.r (seal) On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorsed Viz.t Received on the day and year first within written of and from the within named Charles Carroll of Carrolton the sum of three hundred and thirty pounds twelve shillings and six pence being the Consideration Money within mentioned to be by him paid to me Witness I say received by Oliver Cromwell Sam.l Chase On the 23.d day of April 1773 Came before me the subscriber one of his Lordships provincial Justices the within named Oliver Cromwell Charles Carroll of Carrolton and Thomas Johnson Jun.r and severally acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be their respective Act and Deed and the Land and appurtenances within mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the same Charles Carroll his Heirs and Assigns according to the true Intent and Meaning of the within Deed and the Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided 14½ sides before J Hepburn Recorded the 23.d April 1773 Ex.d 20½ sides This Indenture made the Eight day of March in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and seventy three 1773 Between Thomas Lightfoot of Philadelphia in the Colony of Pensilvania late of Worcester County in Maryland one of the Owners of Pine Grove Furnace in his own Right by Purchase and also Brother and Heir and Executor and sole Devisee of the last Will of William Lightfoot deceased late another of the Owners of the said Furnace of the one part and Walter Franklin of the City of New York in the Colony of New York Merchant of the other part Witnesseth that the said Thomas Lightfoot for and in Consideration of the Sum of Five pounds lawful money of Maryland to him in hand paid by the said Walter Franklin before the sealing and delivery of these presents And for the farther Consideration of repaying to the said Walter Franklin large sums of Money by him formerly advanced and paid for carrying on the Business of the said Furnace the receipt of all which is hereby acknowledged Hath granted bargained sold aliened remised released enfeoffed Conveyed assured and confirmed and by these presents Doth fully freely and absolutely Grant |
