          Maryland to Wit      Be it Remembred that on
       the Fifth day of September in the Year of our Lord God
       One Thousand seven hundred sixty and two personally
       appeared before me the subscriber one of the R.t Hon.ble
       the Lord Prop.ry his Justices of the Provincial Court
       of Maryland all the parties to the Within Deed and
       Acknowledged the same according to Law
                                           Rob.t Jenkins Henry

          Receiv'd the 6.th September 1762  of George Layfield
       one shilling sterling for an alienation fine on the
       within mentioned Land            £0  1  0
13 sides            receivd by me   Joseph Allen Re

                   Recorded the 16.th September 1762


Exam.d   This Indenture Tripartite made the
       seventh day of September in the Year of our Lord God
       One Thousand seven hundred sixty and Two, Between
       Mills Shankland of Sussex County in the Territories of
       Pensilvania Planter Eldest son and Heir at Law of
       William Shankland late of the county aforesaid and Rebecca
       his Wife deceased who was one of the Daughters and a Devisee
       under the Will of one John Mills formerly of Somerset County
       in the province of Maryland decd of the first part; George
       Layfield of Worcester County in the said Province of
       Maryland Gentleman of the second part and the
