177 (168 shall seeme Requisite and necessary And Likewise to Aske Demand Leavy Recover and Receive for my use as aforesaid of all and every person or persons whatsoever all and every such sume and sumes of money goods wares Marchandizes and Tobaccoes as shall become due for the same and upon Receipt thereof or any part or parcell thereof acquittances or other Reasonable discharges for mee and in my name to make seale and deliver for the same and all and every such further and other Act and Acts thing and things device and devices in the Lawe whatsoever Needfull or necessary to bee done in or about the Execution of the premisses in my name to doe Execute and performe as fully and effectually and in as ample manner to all Intents and purposes as I myself might or Could doe were I personally present and did act prosecute and performe the same and one Attorney or more under him to make and substitute and the same att pleasure to revoake All w.ch and whatsoever else my said Attorney or his substitutes or assignes shall Lawfully doe or Cause to bee done in or About the Execution of the premisses by vertue of these presents I doe shall and will ratifie Confirme and Allowe by these p.rsents In witnesse whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the fifteenth day of May in the Fifth yeare of the Dominion of the R.tt hono.ble Charles &c Annoq Dom 1680 James Mills (sealed) sealed and delivered in the p.rsence of W.m Cocks Jn.o Fawkes Maryland fs Know all men by these p.rsents that I Gerrard Slye of St Maryes County Marchant Doe hereby Authorize Constitute and appointe my Loveing friend and Uncle M.r Thomas Gerrard my true and Lawfull attorney for mee and in my name and stead and to my use to Aske demand and Receive all such sume or sumes of Tobacco moneys Beaver or any other Comoditie due to mee from any person or persons whatsoever w.thin the Province of Maryland or Collony of Virginia and upon denyall or refusall of payment of any debt or debts due to mee as aforesaid I doe hereby Impower my said Attorney to sue and Impleade or by any other Legall way Recover all such debts as shall not bee paid or denyed payment by any person or persons whatsoever as aforesaid And I doe hereby authorize my said Attorney to Constitute and appointe one Attorney or more und.r him for the good management and legall Recovery of all and singular my debts as aforesaid hereby rattfieing and allowing all whatsoever my said Attorney shall Legally doe or Cause to bee done in and Concerning the p.rmisses to bee Firme and stable and as effectuall to all intents and purposes as I might or Could doe If I my self were personally present In Witnesse whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale dated the first day of May in the fifth yeare of the Dominion of Charles &c over the Province & in the yeare of our Lord One thousand ix hundred and Eighty Signed sealed and delivered Gerrard Slye (sealed) in the presence of us Thomas Lomax Robert Toal On the back side of the aforegoing Letter of Attorney was thus written The Tenth day of June 1680 Came before mee Thomas Lomax and Robert Toale and made oath that the within named Gerrard Slye in theire presence did signe seale and deliver the above said Letter of Attorney as his Act and Deed Jurat.r Coram mee W.m Digges |
