State Administrative Office of the Courts

FOR the purpose of changing the title of the head of the
State Administrative Office of the Courts from
Director of the Administrative Office of the Courts
to State Court Administrator.

BY repealing and re—enacting, with amendments.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Sections 13-101 and 13-303 of Article -
Courts and Judicial Proceedings, of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1974 Volume) be and they are hereby repealed
and re—enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

13-101.
(a)

An administrative office of the courts is created
and continued, headed by [a director ] THE STATE COURT
ADMINISTRATOR. The [director] ADMINISTRATOR is appointed
by and holds office during the pleasure of the Chief
Judge of the Court of Appeals of Maryland. The
[director] ADMINISTRATOR shall have the compensation
provided in the State budget. The administrative office
of the courts shall have a seal in the form the Chief
Judge of the Court of Appeals approves. The courts of
the State shall take judicial notice of the seal.
