ANY SCHOOL BUS.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1973.

(House Bill 1094)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments. Section 11(16) of Article 73B
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume), title
"Pensions," subtitle "In General," Section 195(11) of Article 77 of the same
Code (1972 Supplement), title "Public Education," subtitle "Chapter 17.
Teachers' Retirement System," and Section 53(13) of Article 88B of the same
Code (1969 Replacement Volume), title "State Police," subtitle "State Police
Retirement System, to provide for optional deductions for medical insurance
premiums, employees organizations dues and payments to the State Employees'
Credit Union of Maryland, Inc., from retired [[State employees]] members
annuities by the Employees' Retirement System. Teachers' Retirement System
and State Police Retirement System.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 11(16) of Article 73B of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1970 Replacement Volume), title "Pensions," subtitle "In General,"
Section 195(11) of Article 77 of the same Code (1972 Supplement), title "Public
Education," subtitle "Chapter 17. Teachers' Retirement System," and Section
53(13) of Article 88B of the same Code (1969 Replacement Volume), title "State
Police." subtitle "State Police Retirement System, be and [[it is]] they are hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, all to read as follows:

11.

(16) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this article, any person retired
from membership in the Employees' Retirement System of the State of Maryland,
may, at his option, elect to have the premium or any part thereof, for
State-approved medical insurance for retired State employees [,] OR FOR
INSURANCE AUTHORIZED BY EMPLOYEES' ORGANIZATIONS, DUES
OF EMPLOYEES' ORGANIZATIONS AND PAYMENTS TO THE STATE
EMPLOYEES' CREDIT UNION OF MARYLAND, INC., deducted from his
annuity by the Employees' Retirement System and paid on his behalf to the carrier
so approved.

(11) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this article, any person retired
from membership in the Teachers' Retirement System of the State of Maryland,
may, at his option, elect to have the premium or any part thereof, for
state-approved medical insurance for retired state teachers OR FOR
INSURANCE AUTHORIZED BY EMPLOYEES' ORGANIZATIONS, DUES
OF EMPLOYEES' ORGANIZATIONS AND PAYMENTS TO THE STATE
EMPLOYEES' CREDIT UNION OF MARYLAND, INC., deducted from his
