Court as jurors and shall receive no extra allowances for either
mileage or overtime.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on July 1, 1972.

CHAPTER 40
(Senate Bill 478)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 32 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of St. Mary's County (1971 Supple-
ment, being Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land), title "St. Mary's County," subtitle "County Commissioners,"
to provide that the County Commissioners are authorized to appro-
priate money for an incinerator plant for St. Mary's Hospital and
generally relating thereto.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 32 of the Code of Public Local Laws of St. Mary's
County (1971 Supplement, being Article 19 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland), title "St. Mary's County," subtitle
"County Commissioners," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

32.

The County Commissioners of St. Mary's County are authorized
to appropriate the sum of $40,000.00, to be paid at the rate of
$10,000.00 per year over the next four years, on and after July 1,
1963, to St. Mary's Hospital. Such funds shall be used for the con-
struction of the addition to the hospital which has been planned
and approved and for no other purposes. It is further provided that
the County Commissioners of St. Mary's County are hereby
authorized to appropriate the sum of one hundred thousand dollars
($100,000) for the sole and express purposes of construction of a
new wing on the St. Mary's Hospital. The Commissioners are fur-
ther authorized to pledge the credit of the County and to borrow
this amount from a bank or banks in St. Mary's County by an open
note to be amortized over a period of ten (10) years. The County
Commissioners of St. Mary's County are hereby authorized to appro-
priate the sum of up to ten thousand ($10,000) dollars for participa-
tion in the construction of an incinerator plant for St. Mary's
Hospital.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1972.
