"Subdistricts for the House of Delegates," be and they are hereby-
repealed in their entirety, and that new Sections 46, 46A, 46B, 47,
47A and 47B be and they are hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to
stand in the place of the Sections so repealed, and be under the new
subtitle "Legislative Districting and Apportionment Plan of 1972,"
all to read as follows:

LEGISLATIVE DISTRICTING AND APPORTIONMENT
PLAN OF 1972

46. General Provisions.

(a)    The State of Maryland is divided into forty-three districts
for the election of members of the Senate of Maryland and into fifty-
four districts for the election of members of the House of Delegates
of Maryland.

(b)    The descriptions of the Senatorial and Delegate districts
set forth in this subtitle, including all references to election dis-
tricts, wards, precincts, streets, highways and other designations,
are to the geographical boundaries thereof as they existed on Jan-
uary 12, 1972.

(c)    There shall be one State Senator elected from each Sena-
torial district.

(d)    The number of members of the House of Delegates to be
elected from each Delegate district shall be as set forth below in
this subtitle.

46 A. Senatorial Districts.

The composition of the forty-three Senatorial districts shall be
as follows:

(a)    Senatorial district 1 shall consist of the following areas:
all of Garrett County and election districts 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12,
13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32,
34 and 35 of Allegany County.

(b)    Senatorial district 2 shall consist of the following areas:
election districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 16 and 33 of Allegany County and
election districts 1,2,3, 4, 5, 10, 12, 15, 17, 18, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25
and 26 of Washington County.

(c)    Senatorial district 3 shall consist of the following areas:
election districts 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 13, 14, 16, 19 and 27 of Washington
County; election districts 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 10,15,16, 20, 21, 23 and 24 of
Frederick County; and election district 1 of Carroll County.

(d)    Senatorial district 4 shall consist of the following areas:
election districts 1, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 22, 25 and 26
of Frederick County; election districts 2, 3, 6, 11 and 12 of Mont-
gomery County; election districts 2, 3, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 of
Carroll County; and precinct 1 of election district 5 of Carroll
County.

(e)    Senatorial district 5 shall consist of the following areas of
Baltimore County: precincts 4 and 19 of election district 1; that
part of precinct 17 of election district 1 that lies north of the center
line of Route 40; precincts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14,
15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20 of election district 2; and precincts 1, 2, 3,
4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 of election district 3.
