607 my Father Charles Digges did sell and convey unto Tho.s Taney under a Lease as laying in his Lordships mannor of Beaverdam being Lying in S.t Marys County & Province of Maryland Begining at an Antient mark'd Chesnutt Tree standing in a line of a mannor of Land called Delabroke mannor thence with a line drawn for breadth southwest by south sixty Three perches to a markd white oak standing by a rode side called S.t Marys road and in the line of a manner of Land called the Beaver Dam mannor thence with a line drawn North west with the said mannor line for the length of five hundred and twenty perches to a markd Chesnutt tree standing in the afforesaid mannor line Thence with a line drawn North East fifty Eight perches to a markd oak standing in the afforesaid Line of Delabroke mannor Thence with a streight line to the first Bounded tree containing & now laid out for Five hundred Acres of Land more or Less Together with all & singular the Advantages Commodities & Appurtenances thereunto Belonging To have and to hold the affs.d Tract or parcell of Land so bounded as above discribd with all and Singular the Appurtenances thereunto Belonging To him ^her^ the said Raph.l Taney his heirs and assigns for ever & to his & their proper use and behoof and to no other use intent or purpose whatsoever & the said Will.m Digges for himself his heirs and Exe.rs & Admin.rs doth by these presents Covenant grant promise & Agree to & with the said Raphael Taney his heirs & Assigns in manner & form following (That is to say) that the said Ralph Raphael Taney his heirs & Assigns for ever hereafter shall and may Quietly & peaceably Have hold & possess the affs.d tract of Land against him the said William Digges for himself his heirs Exec.rs or Adm.rs doth covenant grant and agree to & with the said Rap.l Taney his heirs & Assigns The Land & premisses sold or intended to be sold with the Appurtenances thereunto belonging shall & will at any time hereafter for more sure making over the affs.d Land & premisses make seale Execute & Acknowledge any other deed or writing at the request of him the said Raph.l Taney his heirs Exec.rs Adm.rs or Assigns In Witness Whereoff the affs.d William Digges hath hereunto set his hand & affixed his Seal the day & year first above written Sealed & delivered in the presence of us WDigges Seal Geo Steuart Tho.s Digges On the back of the aforegoing deed was thus Written (viz) Prince Georges County August 23 1765 Then Received of Raphael Taney Twelve pounds Current Money of Maryland being the Consideration within Expressd I say Rec.d P me Witness WDigges Geo Steuart Prince Georges County August 23.d 1765 Then came M.r William Digges party to the within deed before me one of his Lordships Justices of the (provincial) |
