sors' aides for Baltimore County be as specified in the Compensa-
tion Plan of Baltimore County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 238 of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1965 Replacement Volume and 1967 Supplement), title "Revenue
and Taxes," subtitle "State Department of Assessments and Taxa-
tion," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
238.
(a) Baltimore County, Maryland, shall be authorized and
directed to levy and pay each assessor of Baltimore County a salary
as specified [in standard salary grade XXVIII as established by the
personnel and salary advisory board] by The Compensation Plan of
Baltimore County, Maryland, from time to time, including increments
for time served and longevity specified for such grade, provided, how-
ever, that service of assessors as such prior to June 30, [1966]
1968 shall be taken into consideration in determining the salary pay-
able to each such assessor and provided further that the portion of
said salary to be paid by the State shall be limited to the amount
provided in the schedule set forth in Section 237 of this article.
(b) Baltimore County, Maryland, shall be authorized and
directed to levy and pay to each assessor's aide of Baltimore County
a salary as specified in [standard salary grade XXIII as estab-
lished by the personnel and salary advisory board] The Compensa-
tion Plan of Baltimore County, Maryland, from time to time, in-
cluding increments for time served and longevity specified for such
grade, provided, however, that service of assessors' aides as such
prior to June 30, [1966] 1968, shall be taken into consideration in
determining the salary payable to each such assessor's aide and
provided further that the portion of said salary to be paid by the
State shall be limited to the amount provided in the schedule set
forth in Section 237 of this article.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That it is not intended that
reference to Standard Salary Grades established by the Personnel
and Salary Advisory Board of Baltimore County, Maryland, should
subject assessors or assessors' aides to the jurisdiction of the Per-
sonnel and Salary Advisory Board of Baltimore County, Maryland,
but it is merely for the purpose of establishing the compensation
payable to such employees.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.
