Laws of Baltimore City, or any subsequent amendment thereto
notwithstanding that such Judge may have died prior thereto. In

each instance the pension is to be paid to the widow until her remar-

riage or death. The provisions of this section shall not apply in the

case of a widow who was married to the Judge for a period less than
three years and to a retired Judge for a period less than three years
before his retirement; but it
shall apply to the unmarried widows,
otherwise qualified, of Judges and retired Judges who died before the

passage of this Act. The Mayor and City Council of Baltimore are

hereby expressly authorized to levy for and pay such pensions to
widows of former Judges of said People's Court of Baltimore City.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1968.

CHAPTER 668
(House Bill 379)

AN ACT to add new Section 211H-12 to Article 89B of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume and 1967
Supplement), title "State Roads," subtitle "Expenditure of Com-
mission's Funds and Programming and Scheduling of Highway
Projects," to follow immediately after Section 211H-11 thereof,
to provide for inclusion of two additional roads projects ONE
ADDITIONAL ROAD PROJECT in Anne Arundel County in the
State Roads Commission's official 20-year needs study, these proj-
ects being the
reconstruction of Spa Road in Annapolis and the
reconstruction THIS PROJECT BEING THE RECONSTRUC-
TION of a portion of Route 214.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 211H-12 be and it is hereby added to Article 89B
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume and
1967 Supplement), title "State Roads," subtitle "Expenditure of
Commission's Funds and Programming and Scheduling of Highway
Projects," to follow immediately after Section 211H-11 thereof, and
to read as follows:

211H-12.

The official "twenty-year highway needs study" of the State Roads
Commission is hereby amended to show the need for reconstruction

of Spa Road between West Street and Forest Drive in Annapolis,

Anne Arundel County, Maryland, and of the need for reconstruction
of Route 214 as a two-lane highway beginning at the vicinity of
Ponder Road and extending approximately 2,100 feet to a point
approximately 0.2 miles south of Turkey Point Road, in Mayo, Anne
Arundel County, Maryland, the reconstruction of which is hereby
authorized and directed to be undertaken as soon as practicable.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby declared
to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate preser-
