634                             LAWS OF MARYLAND                      [CH. 285

MARYLAND (1957 EDITION AND 1966 SUPPLEMENT), TITLE
"ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES," subtitle "Beer and Light Wine Li-
cense," to follow immediately after Section 13(j) thereof; and that
Section 13 (k) of said Article and title and subtitle be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, all to read as follows:

(k) This section shall not apply to Anne Arundel County, Balti-
more City, not to Baltimore, Charles, Garrett, Harford, Somerset
and St. Mary's counties, in all of which jurisdictions such licenses
shall not be issued.

(j-1) In Somerset County the annual license fee shall be one
hundred dollars ($100.00).

(k) This section shall not apply to the City of Annapolis nor
to Calvert, Caroline, Charles, Dorchester, Garrett, Howard, Kent,
Queen Anne's, St. Mary's, [Somerset,] and Talbot counties, in all
of which jurisdictions such licenses shall not be issued.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

CHAPTER 285
(House Bill 761)

AN ACT to repeal Section 6 (b) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland, (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Justices of the
Peace," subtitle "Civil Jurisdiction," and to repeal and re-enact,
with amendments, Section 6(d) of the same Article, title and sub-
title, (1964 Replacement Volume and 1966 Supplement), to
increase the monetary limitations of jurisdiction of trial magis-
trates of Somerset County after a certain date.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 6(b) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1964 Replacement Volume), title "Justices of the Peace," subtitle
"Civil Jurisdiction," be and it is hereby repealed; and that Section
6(d) of the same Article, title and subtitle (1964 Replacement Volume
and 1966 Supplement), be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

(d) Trial magistrates of Allegany, Cecil, Somerset, and Queen
Anne's counties shall have civil jurisdiction in all cases hereinbefore
mentioned in this section, instituted after June 1, 1959, in Allegany
County; after June 1, 1955, in Cecil County; after June 1, 1967, in
Somerset County;
after June 1, 1959, in Queen Anne's County; and
involving amounts not exceeding five hundred dollars; except that in
