CHAPTER 413
(House Bill 43)

AN ACT to add new Section 139A to Article 27 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title and subtitle "Crimes and
Punishments," to follow immediately after Section 139 thereof
and to be under the new subheading "Explosives," to prohibit the
manufacture, assembly, use or possession in the State of explosive
devices commonly known as gasoline bombs or Molotov cocktails,
and providing penalties for violations.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 139A be and it is hereby added to Article 27 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title and subtitle
"Crimes and Punishments," to follow immediately after Section 139
thereof, and to read as follows:

139 A.

(a)    It is unlawful for any person to manufacture, assemble, use
or possess in this state, any device commonly known as a gasoline
bomb or a Molotov cocktail. Such a device is defined as any break-
able container which is filled with an incendiary liquid and into
which,
OR ATTACHED TO WHICH, a string FUSE is placed and
ignited, resulting in the explosion of the container.

(b)    Violation of this section is a felony MISDEMEANOR and
is punishable upon conviction by imprisonment in the Penitentiary
for not to exceed fifteen
THREE years, or by fine not to exceed five
ONE thousand dollars ($5,000.) ($1,000.) or both.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.

CHAPTER 414
(House Bill 109)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 31 of
Article 59 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Supple-
ment) , title "Lunatics and Insane," subtitle "Department of
Mental Hygiene," to change the description of the terms "lunatic"
and "insanity", "INSANITY", "IDIOTIC" AND "IDIOCY" as
used in the procedure for involuntary commitment of such persons
to public institutions for treatment of such conditions. AND GEN-
ERALLY RELATING TO THE QUALIFICATIONS OF CERTI-
FYING PHYSICIANS.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 31 of Article 59 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1965 Supplement), title "Lunatics and Insane," subtitle "Depart-
ment of Mental Hygiene," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
