(Senate Bill 581)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 32 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of St. Mary's County (1965 Edition,
being Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "St. Mary's County", subtitle "County Commissioners", to
authorize the County Commissioners of St. Mary's County to
borrow a specified sum to be appropriated for the construction of
a wing on St. Mary's Hospital, the loan to be by way of an open
note amortized over a ten-year period.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 32 of the Code of Public Local Laws of St. Mary's
County (1965 Edition, being Article 19 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "St. Mary's County", subtitle "County Com-
missioners", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

The County Commissioners of St. Mary's County are authorized
to appropriate the sum of $40,000.00, to be paid at the rate of
$10,000.00 per year over the next four years, on and after July 1,
1963, to St. Mary's Hospital. Such funds shall be used for the con-
struction of the addition to the hospital which has been planned and
approved and for no other purposes. It is further provided that the
County Commissioners of St. Mary's County are hereby authorized
to appropriate the sum of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000)
for the sole and express purposes of construction of a new wing on
the St. Mary's Hospital. The Commissioners are further authorized
to pledge the credit of the County and to borrow this amount from
a bank or banks in St. Mary's County by an open note to be amor-
tized over a period of ten (10) years.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1966.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 37 (x)
of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965 Supple-
ment), title "Sheriffs", subtitle "Compensation and Duties", in-
creasing the salary of the stenographer and docket clerk of the
Sheriff of Baltimore City.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 37 (x) of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
