SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

CHAPTER 520
(Senate Bill 483)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 51 (e)
of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Supple-
ment), title "County Commissioners", sub-title "County Treas-
urers", increasing the salary of the County Treasurer of Howard
County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 51 (e) of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1964 Supplement), title "County Commissioners", sub-title "County
Treasurers", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

51.

(e) The county treasurer of Howard County shall receive an
annual salary of [$7,200.00] $9,200.00.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall not affect
the salary to be paid during the term of office existing on the effective
date of this Act.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That subject to the provisions
of Section 2, this Act shall take effect June 1,1965.

CHAPTER 521
(Senate Bill 484)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 49 of
Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Supplement),
title "Public Education", sub-title "Chapter 5. County Board of
Education", increasing the travel and expense allowance of mem-
bers of the Board of Education of Howard County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 49 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1964 Supplement), title "Public Education", sub-title "Chapter 5.
County Board of Education", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

49. The county board of education shall hold an annual meeting
each year on the second Tuesday in May, or as near as possible
