and nursing care for the aged, convalescent, and chronically ill
citizens of Worcester County. In further support of the objectives
of this section the County Commissioners may make appropriations
for land acquisition and capital improvements or borrow funds for
these purposes and issue individual notes, bonds or other evidences
of indebtedness.
(f) The Board shall annually report their activities to the County
Commissioners during the preceding year, together with recommen-
dations or requests they deem appropriate to achieve the objectives
and purposes of this section.
(g) The purpose of the Citizens Nursing Home Board of Wor-
cester County is declared to be for the general benefit of the citizens
of Worcester County and charitable in nature. Upon appointment
of its members by the County Commissioners of Worcester County,
the Board shall become a quasi public corporation with perpetual
existence, subject to modification by the General Assembly of the
State of Maryland if such modification is necessary, to effectuate the
purposes herein declared; and it is subject to termination by the
General Assembly when and if its substantial purposes cease.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

AN ACT to add a new Section 135A to the Code of Public Local Laws
of Worcester County (1961 Edition, being Article 24 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Worcester County", sub-
title "County Commissioners", to follow immediately after Section
135 thereof, authorizing the County Commissioners of Worcester
County to make appropriations to the Peninsula General Hospital
and relating generally to the conditions for and the amounts of
such appropriations.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 135A be and it is hereby added to the Code of
Public Local Laws of Worcester County (1961 Edition, being Article
24 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Worcester
County", sub-title "County Commissioners", to follow immediately
after Section 135 thereof, and to read as follows:
135A. The County Commissioners from time to time may appro-
priate from the general funds of the county such sums as necessary
to pay to the Peninsula General Hospital a portion of the per-person
per-day cost of hospitalization therein for welfare or free patients
who reside in Worcester County. This payment for any patient shall
be not in excess of a sum equal to the difference between the per-
person per-day cost of hospitalization and the amount of that cost
which is reimbursed to the hospital by State or Federal programs.
