his county and State have lost a respected and outstanding citizen;
now therefore, be it

Resolved by the Senate of Maryland, That the deepest regrets of
this body are expressed over the passing of Mr. James T. Knotts;
and be it further

Resolved, That the Secretary of the Senate is instructed to send
copies of this resolution to the surviving children of Mr. Knotts,
being Kenneth, Charles H., Temple, Evelyn and Elizabeth Knotts
and also to the surviving brother, Mr. Herbert Knotts.

Read and adopted.

Senator Dorf asked that the rules be suspended in order to introduce
Senate Resolution No. 4, and two-thirds of the Senators-elect voting in
the affirmative, the rules were suspended by yeas and nays as follows:

investigation of the current financial difficulties of certain insurance
companies in this State.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee on
Judicial Proceedings.

numerals "267" and insert in lieu thereof in each instance the numerals
"269".

Amendment No. 2—In line 4 of Section 152A on page 1 of the Third
Reading File Bill, strike out the following: "June 1, 1964" and insert in
lieu thereof the following: "the effective date of this Act".
