title "Operation of Vehicles Upon Highways", to follow immediate-
ly after Section 187C thereof, to authorize the County Commis-
sioners of Dorchester County to designate truck routes on county
roads, relating to the designation of such routes and to provide
penalties for violations.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 187D be and it is hereby added to Article 66½ of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1962 Supplement), title "Motor
Vehicles", sub-title "Operation of Vehicles Upon Highways", to fol-
low immediately after Section 187C thereof, and to read as follows:

187D. The County Commissioners of Dorchester County by rule
or regulation may designate any of the roads and streets under their
jurisdiction as "truck routes" for use by trucks and other vehicles
of specified weight and/or size, and may exclude trucks and other
vehicles of specified weight and/or size from any other designated
county roads and streets. The commissioners shall, after adoption of
any such rules or regulations, cause to be placed and maintained in
conspicuous places along such roads and streets, signs describing the
provisions applicable thereto, and no such rules or regulations shall
become effective until such signs have been erected. The commis-
sioners may prescribe such penalties not to exceed a fine of $500 for
violation of any rules or regulations adopted pursuant to this section
as they deem appropriate.
PROVIDING, HOWEVER, THIS ACT
DOES NOT APPLY TO VEHICLES OWNED AND OPERATED
BY UTILITY COMPANIES IN THE COURSE OF RENDERING
SERVICE TO THE PUBLIC.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 302
(Senate Bill 522)

AN ACT to add a new Section 134A to the Code of Public Local
Laws of Cecil County (1961 Edition, being Article 8 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Cecil County", sub-
title "County Commissioners", creating an Economic Development
Commission for Cecil County, providing generally for its powers
and duties and for the powers and duties of the County Commis-
sioners of Cecil County in respect thereto, and relating generally
to economic development in Cecil County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new Section 134A be and it is hereby added to the Code of
Public Local Laws of Cecil County (1961 Edition, being Article 8
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Cecil County",
sub-title "County Commissioners", to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 134 thereof and to read as follows:

134A. Economic Development Commission.
