counties, except Allegany, Baltimore, Calvert, Frederick, Garrett,
Harford, Charles, St. Mary's and Wicomico counties, five dollars
per day for each and every day they shall attend the several courts
of this State as jurors and fifteen cents for each mile over five
miles for going to and returning from the court, once in each term,
to be paid by the counties, respectively, in which courts are held.
In Baltimore County, jurors shall receive per diem compensation
in such amounts as shall be set, from time to time, by the judges
of the Circuit Court of Baltimore County. Jurors in Frederick
County shall receive at least eight dollars per day for each and
every day they shall attend the Circuit Court of Frederick County
as jurors and a reasonable amount in the discretion of the County
Commissioners, for each mile going to and returning from the
court.

(h) In Calvert, Garrett, and Charles counties, jurors shall receive
eight dollars per day for each and every day they shall attend a court
of this State as jurors and shall receive no extra allowances for
either mileage or overtime EXCEPT IN GARRETT COUNTY,
WHERE JURORS SHALL RECEIVE FIFTEEN CENTS FOR
EACH MILE OVER FIVE MILES FOR GOING TO AND RE-
TURNING FROM THE COURT, ONCE IN EACH TERM.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 231
(House Bill 264)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 471-485, inclusive, of Article 66C of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Natural Re-
sources," subtitle "Manures and Fertilizers," and to enact new
Sections 471-484, inclusive, in lieu thereof to stand in the place
of the sections so repealed, revising the laws concerning the sale
and distribution of commercial fertilizers in the State of Mary-
land and relating generally to such sale and distribution.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 471-485, inclusive, of Article 66C of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Natural Resources," subtitle
"Manures and Fertilizers," be and they are hereby repealed and
new Sections 471-484, inclusive, be and they are hereby enacted in
lieu thereof to stand in the place of the sections so repealed, the
new sections to read as follows:

471.

Title. This subtitle shall be known as the "Maryland Commercial
Fertilizer Law of 1963."

472.

Enforcing Official. This subtitle shall be administered by the State
Chemist as appointed by the State Board of Agriculture hereinafter
referred to as the "State Chemist."
