On motion of Mr. Partridge,

Leave was granted to introduce a bill entitled, an act to incor-
porate the Maryland Iron and Bolt Manufactory;

Which was referred to the Committee on Corporations.
Mr. Stubbs submitted the following order:

Ordered, that when this House adjourns it shall be to 8 o'clock
this evening, for the consideration of tills for a second reading;

Which was determined in the negative.

On motion of Mr. Partridge,

Leave was granted to introduce a bill entitled, an act to give
the consent of the State to the purchase of certain lands in the
city of Baltimore by the United States, and for ceding to the Uni-
ted States jurisdiction in and over the same;

Which was referred to Baltimore city delegation.

Also to introduce a bill entitled, a further additional supple-
ment to the act incorporating the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal
Company, to enable said company to create a mortgage and to
make valid certain proceedings therein mentioned;

Which was referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

On motion of Mr. Frey,             

Leave was granted to introduce a bill authorizing the justices of
the peace in Allegany county to hand over their dockets to their
successors in office, instead of returning them to the clerk of the
county court;                                                               

Which was referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

On motion of Mr. Heath,

Leave was granted to introduce a bill to authorize the Orphans'
Court of Baltimore county to order a sale of part of the real es-
tate in said county of which Robert Turner late of said county
died seized;                                                                               


Which was referred to the Baltimore county delegation.

Mr. Wickes offered the following resolution:

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Adjutant General be and he is hereby ordered to furnish Captain
Joseph H. Tucker fifty muskets from the quota due the State,
from the general government for the year 1856, upon his giving
ing security for their safe keeping and return when required by
the State.                                                                                     

And on motion of Mr. Wickes.
