'Which was referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

Mr. Sudler presented a petition of sundry citizens of Kent
county, praying the passage of a registry law.

Which was referred to the Committee on Judiciary.

Mr. Clark presented a petition of citizens of Talbot county,
for the passage of an act to provide for a uniform system of reg-
istration of births, marriages and deaths in this State.

Which was referred to the Committee on Judiciary.
Mr. Duvall submitted the following order:

Ordered, That the chairman of the committee, and such mem-
bers of the committee as he may select on Militia, be allowed to
go to Baltimore on Friday the 8th instant, to attend a conven-
tion of officers from the several counties of the State, which is to
assemble on that day.                                                              

Mr. Abbott submitted the following order:

Ordered, That it be entered upon the Journal that the absence
of Messrs. Lester, Miller, Dowell, Wright, and Smith, of Balti-
more city, has been caused by the order of this House requiring
them to examine the various tobacco warehouses in Baltimore;
Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Lester,

Leave was granted to introduce a bill to make valid a deed
from Wm. M. Landing, Attorney, to James McMullen of the city
of Baltimore.                                                                             

Which was referred to the Baltimore city delegation.

On motion of Mr. Hall,                                               

Leave was granted to a Select committee composed of Messrs.
Hall, Harding and Brooke to bring in a bill to incorporate the
Brookville Sandy Spring and Laurel Stage Company.

On motion of Mr. Daniel,                                 

Leave was granted to introduce a bill providing for the erec-
tion of a new dormitory to the Maryland Penitentiary, and ma-
king suitable provisions for a chapel and for insane persons con-

fined in said penitentiary;                    

Which was referred to the special committee on Penitentiary, &c.

On motion of Mr. Wright,                                                 

Leave was granted to introduce a bill in relation to the public
schools of Baltimore county;              

Which was referred to the Baltimore county delegation.
