land and personal property by the General Assembly of Mary-
land in conformity with the requirements of the amendment
to the Fifteenth Article of the Declaration of Rights of the
Constitution of Maryland, as contained in Chapter 390 of the
Acts of 1914, and adopted by the people of Maryland in the
General Election of 1915. " [Which was read the first time
and referred to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings. ]

By Mr. Frick, by request: Senate Bill No. 619, entitled "An.
Act to authorize and direct the State Board of Education of
the State of Maryland to issue to Clarissa Berry a Teacher's
Life Certificate, entitling her to teach in the public schools
of the State of Maryland. " [Which was read the first time
and referred to the Committee on Education. ]

By Mr. Jones: Senate Bill No. 620, entitled "An Act author-
izing and directing the County Commissioners of Montgomery
county to issue bonds to an amount not to exceed fifteen
thousand dollars ($15, 000) for the purpose of building, im-
proving and relocating a portion of the public road known as
the Dickerson-Martinsburg Road from the Monocacy school-
house corner by way of the Iron Ridge road to the Pooles-
ville-White's Ferry road at C. S. Field's store, a distance of
about five miles; provided, that certain donations be made,
as hereinafter provided, to the said County Commissioners to
be applied by them for the purposes herein; and to collect
arid levy taxes in the Third Election District of said county
for the payment of said bonds and interest coupons thereon. "
[Which was read the first time and referred to Senators
Jones, Johnson and Holmead. ]

By Mr. Ogden: Senate Bill No. 621, entitled "An Act to repeal
Section 16, sub-title 'Who May Not Practice Law, ' of Article
10, title 'Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact, ' of Bag-
by's Annotated Code of Maryland, as repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, by Chapter 236 of the Acts of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland, 1914, and to re-enact the same,
with amendments, the effect of said amendments being to
designate the Register of Wills and Clerk of Courts and em-
ployes thereof who may not practice law. " [Which was read
the first time and referred to the Committee on Judicial "
Proceedings. ]

By the President: Senate Bill No. 622, entitled "An Act
to add a new section to Article 27 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (Annotated Code of Maryland), title
'Crimes and Punishments, ' sub-title 'False Pretenses'; said
new section so added to follow immediately after Section 122,
