By Mr. Kaufman: Senate Bill No. 269, entitled "An Act to
reimburse Josiah A. Ramsburg, of Frederick county, for trees
destroyed, and appropriating a sum of money therefore. "

By Mr. Holmead: Senate Bill No. 270, entitled "An Act to
repeal and re enact, with amendments, Section 88-B of Article
23 of the Annotated Code of Maryland of 1914, title 'Corpora-
tions, ' sub-title 'Taxation, ' as said section was enacted by Chap-
ter 324 of the Acts of 1914. " [Which was read the first time
and referred to the Committee on Finance. ]
By Mr. Warfield; Senate Bill No. 271, entitled "An Act
authorizing the State Roads Commission to construct a high-
way in Carroll county, Maryland, from Taneytown to the
Pennsylvania line over and upon the public road leading from
said Taneytown to the Pennsylvania line through the village
of Harney, connecting at said State line with the State road
now being built by the State of Pennsylvania from that point
to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. " [Which was read the first time
and referred to the Committee on Finance. ]
By Mr. Zihlman: Senate Bill No. 272, entitled "An Act to re-
peal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 379, 380 and 381
of Article 23 of the Annotated Code of Public Civil Laws of
Maryland (Legalized by Chapter 21 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland of 1912), title 'Corporations, ' sub-title
'Trust, Surety and Fidelity Companies, ' relating to the execu-
tion, validity and effect of fidelity and surety bonds, and to
certain requirements as to capital, surplus, reserves and de-
posits of companies issuing said classes of bonds, and the filing
of certain papers and statements of such companies, and fur-
ther relating to the powers, qualifications and authority of
such companies to become surety or guarantor on such bonds,
and repealing all Acts inconsistent therewith. " [Which was
read the first time and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings. ]
By Mr. Frick: Senate Bill No. 273, entitled "An Act to de-
clare the sanction and consent of the General Assembly of
Maryland to a certain grant and deed by the Safe Deposit and
Trust Company, trustee to the trustees of the Eutaw Place
Baptist Church of Baltimore, a religious corporation of this
State, to and for its use and benefit. " [Which was read the
first time and referred to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings. ]
