County the County Commissioners shall be ex-officio the members
of the liquor control board.
In Kent County the County Commis-
sioners shall be ex officio the members of the liquor control board.
In Harford county said board shall also be known as the board of
license commissioners of Harford County, upon which shall be
devolved all the duties and rights given elsewhere in this article.
In Montgomery County the director of the department of liquor
control shall be appointed and removed by the county manager with
the approval of the county council.

This subtitle shall apply to Garrett, Harford, Montgomery, Kent,
Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties.

180A.

In Garrett County any minor who has in his or her possession or
who purchases, or misrepresents his or her age for the purpose of
procuring, any alcoholic beverages is guilty of a misdemeanor, and
shall be punished upon conviction thereof by a fine not to exceed
fifty dollars ($50.00).

SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT THE CON-
TINUED EFFECTIVENESS OF THIS ACT SHALL BE SUBJECT
BEFORE THIS ACT SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE IT SHALL
BE SUBMITTED TO A REFERENDUM OF THE LEGALLY
QUALIFIED VOTERS OF GARRETT COUNTY AT A SPECIAL
ELECTION TO BE HELD ON OR BEFORE THE FIRST MON-
DAY IN JUNE OF 1963
DURING THE MONTH OF JUNE, 1961,
THE DATE TO BE IN THE DISCRETION OF THE BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF GARRETT COUNTY. THE
COST OF SUCH ELECTION SHALL BE BORNE BY THE COUN-
TY COMMISSIONERS OF GARRETT COUNTY. THERE SHALL
BE PRINTED ON THE BALLOTS OR BALLOT LABELS, TO
BE USED AT SAID ELECTION, THE TITLE OF THIS ACT AND
UNDERNEATH SAID TITLE, ON SEPARATE LINES, A
SQUARE OR BOX TO THE RIGHT OF AND OPPOSITE THE
WORDS "FOR THE SALE OF LIQUORS IN GARRETT COUNTY",
AND A CORRESPONDING SQUARE OR BOX TO THE RIGHT
OF AND OPPOSITE THE WORDS "AGAINST THE SALE OF
LIQUOR IN GARRETT COUNTY", SO THAT THE VOTERS OF
SAID COUNTY, SHALL BE ABLE TO DESIGNATE HIS OR HER
DECISION FOR OR AGAINST SAID ACT, IF A MAJORITY OF
THE VOTES CAST IN SAID ELECTION IN ANY ELECTION
DISTRICT OF SAID COUNTY SHALL BE "FOR THE SALE OF
LIQUORS IN GARRETT COUNTY", THEN THIS ACT SHALL
REMAIN BECOME EFFECTIVE IN SUCH ELECTION DIS-
TRICT, BUT IF A MAJORITY OF THE VOTES CAST IN ANY
ELECTION DISTRICT OF SAID COUNTY SHALL BE "AGAINST
THE SALE OF LIQUOR IN GARRETT COUNTY", THEN IN
SUCH ELECTION DISTRICT THIS ACT SHALL BE OF NO
FURTHER EFFECT AND SHALL BE NULL AND VOID.

Sec. 2. SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1961.
