BUT NOT LESS THAN $5,000 ANNUALLY. THIS POSITION IS
FIRST AUTHORIZED AS OF JANUARY 1,1963. (4) IN SPECIAL
CASES, THE JUDGE OF THE CIRCUIT COURT OF ANNE
ARUNDEL COUNTY MAY APPOINT A SPECIAL ASSISTANT
STATE'S ATTORNEY, WHOSE COMPENSATION SHALL BE AS
BY THE COURT.

(d) Baltimore County.In Baltimore County, (1) the State's
Attorney's salary is ten thousand dollars ($10,000)
THIRTEEN
THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($13,500) ANNUALLY,
to be paid in equal semi-monthly BI-WEEKLY instalments.

(2) The State's Attorney may SHALL appoint a Deputy State's
Attorney with a salary not exceeding seventy five hundred dollars
($7,500)
WITH A SALARY OF NOT LESS THAN NINE THOU-
SAND ($9,000) DOLLARS ANNUALLY TO BE PAID IN EQUAL
BI-WEEKLY INSTALLMENTS; THE DEPUTY STATE'S ATTOR-
NEY IS to perform such work as directed by the State's Attorney
or as authorized by law.

(3) The State's Attorney may appoint five assistant State's At-

torneys, at salaries not exceeding six thousand dollars ($6,000) each,
to perform such work as directed by the State's
Attorney or as au-
thorized by law.

(3) THE STATE'S ATTORNEY SHALL APPOINT FIVE
ASSISTANT STATE'S ATTORNEYS; THE SALARY OF EACH
OF THE ASSISTANT STATE'S ATTORNEYS SHALL BE NO
LESS THAN $6,500.00 ANNUALLY, TO BE PAID IN EQUAL BI-
WEEKLY INSTALLMENTS, THE SEVERAL ASSISTANT
STATE'S ATTORNEYS SHALL PERFORM SUCH WORK AS
DIRECTED BY THE STATE'S ATTORNEY, OR AS AUTHORIZED
BY LAW.

(4) The State's Attorney may appoint such clerical and other
assistants as in his judgment may be necessary for the proper con-
duct of his office, at such compensation as he may deem proper, to
be paid by the county on the certification of the State's Attorney.
Such clerical and other assistants shall perform clerical and other
work as directed by the State's Attorney.

(e)    Calvert County.In Calvert County, (1) the State's At-
torney's salary is two thousand dollars ($2,000)
FIVE THOUSAND
DOLLARS ($5,000). FROM TIME TO TIME AS MAY BE DEEM-
ED WISE OR NECESSARY THE JUDGE OF THE CIRCUIT
COURT OF CALVERT COUNTY MAY APPOINT A TEMPORARY
ASSISTANT STATE'S ATTORNEY FOR A PARTICULAR CASE
OR SERIES OF CASES AND MAY FIX HIS COMPENSATION.

(2) The State's Attorney's allowance for office, traveling and
other expenses is two thousand dollars ($2,000)
TWO THOUSAND
FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($2,500). Payments on account of this
allowance shall be made at regular intervals by the Board of Comity
Commissioners upon the presentation of bills by the State's Attorney.

(f)  Caroline County.In Caroline County, (1) the State's Attor-
ney's salary is twenty four hundred dollars ($2,400)

HUNDRED DOLLARS ($3,600).
