that the private bathing beach is staked and marked by the owners
thereof by the erection of a sign, of a readily discernible size, upon
which shall be lettered the words ''bathing beach", in a readily dis-
cernible size, or as may be required by any rule or regulation of the
Commission of Tidewater Fisheries; provided, however, that the
linear measurement along the shore line shall not exceed one hundred
(100) yards for each land owner;

(6) Within fifty (50) feet of the mean low water mark of any
shore line.

(j) Dredge on Unlicensed Boats.It shall be unlawful for any
owner or master or any person on board any boat or floating rig to
have affixed to said boat or floating rig any hydraulic or mechanical
dredge while said boat or floating rig is being sailed or operated on
the navigable waters of this State, unless said boat or floating rig be
licensed as hereinbefore provided.

(k) Inspection Tax.An inspection tax of ten cents ($.10) per
bushel is hereby levied upon all soft shell clams caught within the
limits of Queen Anne's County or the Chesapeake Bay adjacent
thereto, unloaded from boats or rigs at the place in said county where
said clams are no further shipped in bulk in vessel, and said inspec-
tion tax shall be paid weekly to the Comptroller of the Treasury, or
his agent, by the buyer or purchaser thereof. All monies received by
the Comptroller of the Treasury under the provisions of this sub-title
shall be credited to a fund known as the Clam Fund, the monies in
which shall be for the use of the Department of Research and Edu-
cation in making quantitative shellfish population surveys and for
the study and research of clamming in the State of Maryland, and
all other monies received by the Comptroller by the provisions of
this section shall be credited to general funds, anything to the con-
trary in this Article notwithstanding.

(l) Dealers to Be Licensed.Any person desiring to be a dealer
in the business of buying and selling, shipping or marketing soft
shell clams in, to or from Queen Anne's County, shall first obtain a
license from the Department of Tidewater Fisheries as set forth in
Section 713 of this Article.

(m) Confiscation of Soft Shell Clams.It shall be the duty of the
Commission of Tidewater Fisheries to seize any and all soft shell clams
that may be caught, sold, offered for sale, or held in possession in
violation of this section, to be disposed of at the discretion of the
Commission of Tidewater Fisheries. In Queen Anne's County, the
Commission of Tidewater Fisheries is expressly denied, and shall not
have the right and authority to confiscate any boat, floating rig,
mechanical or hydraulic dredge, truck or motor vehicle, or any part
thereof, at any time or to hold or detain for evidence any boat, float-
ing rig, hydraulic or mechanical dredge, truck or motor vehicle for
any violation, or alleged violation of this section.

(n) Soft Shell Clam Productivity.It shall be the duty of the Com-
mission of Tidewater Fisheries to take such measures as in its judg-
ment shall seem best calculated to increase the productivity of soft
shell clams in the waters of Queen Anne's County and the Chesapeake
Bay adjacent thereto.

(o) Authority to Open and Close Soft Shell Clam Beds.The Com-
mission of Tidewater Fisheries is authorized to open and close any
