to give such security therefor as the Board may, in its discretion,
determine and require. Persons employing such prison labor shall
be authorized to sell the produce harvested by such labor notwith-
standing the restriction imposed by Section 680 of Article 27.
Prisoners so employed in [the harvesting of crops] agricultural work
shall be under the control and supervision of the Board of Correction
to the extent as when employed on the construction and maintenance
of roads.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

CHAPTER 694
(House Bill 738)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 391 and 392 of Article 20 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Somerset
County", sub-title "State's Attorney", Section 391 having last been
amended by Chapter 393 of the Acts of 1941 and Section 392 having
been enacted by Chapter 433 of the Acts of 1947, and to add new
Section 40 (p) (16) to Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in
Fact", sub-title "State's Attorney", to follow immediately after
Section 40 (p) (15) thereof, to repeal obsolete Local Laws on the
salary of the State's Attorney of Somerset County and to change
the allowance for expenses of his office.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 391 and 392 of Article 20 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Somerset County", sub-
title "State's Attorney", Section 391 haying last been amended by
Chapter 393 of the Acts of 1941 and Section 392 having been enacted
by Chapter 433 of the Acts of 1947, be and they are hereby repealed.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That new Section 40 (p) (16)
be and it is hereby added to Article 10 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys
in Fact", sub-title "State's Attorney", to follow immediately after
Section 40 (p) (15) thereof, and to read as follows:

40.

(p)

(16) In Somerset County, the State's Attorney shall receive an
annual allowance of $1,000.00 for the expenses of his office.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959 .
