violations of this subsection shall be tried in the Circuit Court of
Anne Arundel County.
Sec 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1959.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 715 (d)
(6) of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edi-
tion), title "Natural Resources", sub-title "Oysters and Clams",
relating to the distance from the shoreline at which soft shell clams
may be caught in Anne Arundel County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 715 (d) (6) of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Natural Resources", sub-title
"Oysters and Clams", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

6. Anywhere in Anne Arundel County within [fifteen hundred
(1,500) ] three hundred (300) feet of the shore line measured from
mean tide. AFTER STUDY AND REPORT BY THE DEPART-
MENT OF EDUCATION AND RESEARCH, THE DEPARTMENT
OF TIDEWATER FISHERIES IS AUTHORIZED TO PERMIT
THE TAKING OF CLAMS WITHIN 800 FEET OF THE SHORE-
LINE IN THOSE AREAS WHICH HAVE BEEN REPORTED
UPON BY THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND RE-
SEARCH. THE DEPARTMENT OF TIDEWATER FISHERIES
SHALL HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO OPEN AND CLOSE THOSE
AREAS BETWEEN 800 FEET AND 1500 FEET OF SHORELINE
UPON STUDY AND REPORT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF RE-
SEARCH AND EDUCATION. SUBJECT TO THE LIMITATIONS
OF THIS SUB-SECTION (D) 6, AND NOTWITHSTANDING THE
PROVISIONS OF SUB-SECTION (D) 5 OF THIS SECTION 715,
IT SHALL BE LAWFUL IN ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY TO
CATCH SOFT SHELL CLAMS FROM SEPTEMBER 15 TO APRIL
1 IN THE SEVERN RIVER EAST OF A LINE DRAWN FROM
GREENBERRY POINT TO THE EASTERN ENTRANCE OF
LAKE OGLETON AND IN THAT PART OF THE CHESAPEAKE
