(b) All sums received by any Volunteer Fire Department shall
be expended only for the purchase, maintenance and repair of fire
fighting apparatus and equipment, and the construction, mainte-
nance or repair of buildings necessary for fire fighting purposes.
(c) The County Commissioners shall pay over all sums required
under this section not later than July 1 of each year. Every Volun-
teer Fire Department receiving any sum tender this section shall file
an annual report with the County Commissioners.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
January 1, 1960.

CHAPTER 691
(House Bill 728)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 713 (c)
and 715 (d) (6) of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition), title "Natural Resources", sub-title "Oysters
and Clams", relating to licensing of dredges used for catching of
soft shell clams in Anne Arundel County and providing penalties
for violations thereof in Anne Arundel County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 713 (c) and 715 (d) (6) of Article 66C of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Natural Resources",
sub-title "Oysters and Clams", be and they are hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
713.
(c) Residence of master and crew.—The master, captain or opera-
tor and crews of such hydraulic or mechanical dredge or rig shall
be a bona fide resident of the county in which such dredge or rig is
licensed, for one year. In Anne Arundel County the master, captain
or operator of any hydraulic dredge or mechanical clam dredge shall
be the actual licensee thereof.

6. Anywhere in Anne Arundel County within fifteen hundred
(1,500) feet of the shore line measured from mean tide.
Any person violating any provisions of this subsection shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof be fined
not less than [two hundred dollars ($200.00)] Twenty-five Dollars
