CHAPTER 54.

An act for the benefit of James C. Wheeler, of Talbot county.
Be it enacted By the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the judges of Talbot county court, be, and they are hereby authori-
sed and empowered, to extend to James C. Wheeler, of Talbot coun-
ty, the benefit and relief of the act of assembly, passed at November
session eighteen hundred and five, entitled, "An act for the relief
of sundry insolvent debtors," and the supplementary acts thereto,
without his being compelled to produce the assent of two thirds in

shall comply with all the other necessary requisites of said acts.

CHAPTER 55.

An act for the benefit of Peter Tingstrom of Frederick county.
Whereas, Peter Tingstrom, of Frederick county, by his peti-
tion to this general assembly, has set forth, that he emigrated to this
country several years since, and is settled in Frederick county in
this state, and wishes to purchase real property in this state, but
not being naturalized, he is incapable of holding real property, and
that he intends to become a citizen of this state as soon as the laws
will permit—Therefore.

Preamble.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted By the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Peter Tingstrom, may take, acquire and hold any real pro-
perty within this state, by deed, as amply and fully and for the
same estate, as if he were a citizen duly naturalized; Provided al-
ways, That the said Peter Tingstrom, shall, within twelve months
after he is capable of becoming a citizen, naturalize himself agree-
ably to the laws of the United States.

2. And be it enacted, That if the said Peter Tingstrom shall
die before the period herein allowed for his being naturalized, the
real property which he may have purchased or acquired, shall ne-
vertheless pass to his legal representatives in the same manner as if
he had become naturalized.

CHAPTER 56.

An act for the relief of Isaac Knight, of Baltimore county.
Whereas, It is represented to this general assembly, by the
petition of Isaac Knight, of Baltimore county, that he is at present
confined in Baltimore county jail, for debts which he is unable to
pay, and that he is debarred from the privilege of the insolvent
laws of the state, by reason of the unfavorable report of the com-
missioners of insolvent debtors for the city and county of Baltimore
upon his petition heretofore made before them; and the said Isaac
Knight being desirous of again appearing before the said commis-
sioaers, notwithstanding such unfavorable report; and it being
deemed unreasonable that he should remain in imprisonment, if he
shall be able to satisfy the said commissioners that he has fairly
surrendered up all the property that he is or has been possessed of—
Therefore,
