Proviso.
|
Francis Jamison, to be the property of said Francis Jamison, when
he shall arrive at the age of twenty-one years, according to the pro-
visions of the law on that subject; Provided, Said John Jamison,
shall cause the said negro slaves to be registered in the clerk's of-
fice for Frederick county, within three months after said removal,
and that said negroes shall not be sold to any person out of this
State, or for the purpose of being removed therefrom.

CHAPTER 49.
An act for the relief of the infant children of Levin H. Campbell,
late of Dorchester county.
Whereas, It appears to the general assembly, that Levin H.
Campbell, late of Dorchester county, purchased of a certain John
M. Davis of the said county, certain tracts or parcels of land lying
and being in said county, and described in a deed bearing date on
the tenth day of April, in the year eighteen hundred and fifteen,
and executed by the said John M. Davis, to the said Levin
H. Campbell and Samuel Chamberlain, of Talbot county. And
whereas, It is represented by Joseph E. Muse, uncle to the infant
children of the said Levin H. Campbell, and by the said John M.
Davis, that it would be beneficial to the interest of the said minor
children, if the said contract should be vacated, and that the said
John M. Davis has assented to vacate the said contract,

May prefer a
petition.

Be it enacted By the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the said Joseph E. Muse, may prefer a petition to the next county
court for Dorchester county, stating the grounds upon which he
deemes that the rescinding of the deed and contract would be for
the benefit of the infant heirs of said Campbell, and if the court,
upon hearing, shall be of opinion that it will be for the benefit of
the infant heirs of said Campbell, the said court may decree that
the said deed shall have no effect, and that the said John M. Da-
vis, shall be restored and re-seized of his estate in the lands and
tenements in the deed contained, according to his respective rights,
in as full and ample a manner as if no deed had ever been executed,
and shall order and decree all agreements, contracts and bonds, exe-
cuted in relation thereto, and for securing the purchase money, to be
cancelled, delivered up, and the estate of the said Levin H. Camp-

bell therefrom discharged; Provided always, That nothing herein
contained shall be construed to affect any liens created or attached
on the said lands in the life-time of the said Levin H. Campbell.
And provided also, That if any part of the consideration money
shall have been paid to the said Davis, that then the said purchase
money shall be first refunded to the representative of the said
Campbell.

CHAPTER 50.
A further supplement to the act entitled, An act for the distribution of
a certain fund for the purpose of establishing free schools in the se-
veral counties therein mentioned.
Sec. 1. Be it enacted By the General Assembly of Maryland,
That John Norris, (of Edward,) James Moores, Doctor Joshua
Wilson, Charles Sewell, John Clendinen, Thomas Hope, Ephraim
Hopkins, Michael Whiteford, Bennett Barnes and Edward C. Hall,
be, and they are hereby appointed and substituted as a separate in-
