1820.

liott O'Donnell have, by their petition to this general assembly,
set forth, that the subjection of their said warehouse, and that of
the said Dugan, to the same inspector as one warehouse, under
the provisions of said act of assembly, and the supplement
thereto, is of serious inconvenience and detriment to them, and
also not as beneficial to the public as if the connexion of said
warehouse, was dissolved; and the said Cumberland Dugan hath
by his petition assented thereto: And that from the local situation
of their said warehouses, with respect to that of Amos A. Wil-
liams and George Williams, which is situated on O'Donnell's or
Frederick-street dock aforesaid, and adjoins that of said O'Don-
nell's, it would be advantageous to the public to leave said Du-
gan's warehouse as a separate and distinct warehouse for the sto-
rage and inspection of tobacco, and to unite that of said O'Don-
nell's and Williams, so as to make one other warehouse for the
storage and inspection of tobacco; and the said Amos A. Wil-
liams and George Williams have assented to said arrangement,
by uniting in the petition of the said Columbus O'Donnell and
Elliott O'Donnell; Therefore,

CHAP. 39.

I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
from and after the passage of this act, the connexion between the
said Dugan and O'Donnell's warehouses bo dissolved, and that
said Dugan's warehouse be a separate and distinct warehouse for
the storage and inspection of tobacco, subject to the regulations,
and to have an inspector or inspectors hereafter appointed there-
for, in the same manner as is provided by law for other tobacco
inspection warehouses in the city of Baltimore; and that the
warehouses of the said Williams and O'Donnells, at present
erected or that may hereafter be erected upon the adjacent
grounds heretofore appropriated for that purpose, be and they
are hereby constituted a warehouse for the storage and inspec-
tion of tobacco, under the same regulations, conditions and privi-
leges, as other tobacco inspection warehouses, and that an inspec-
tor or inspectors, as the proprietors may from time to time think
proper, be appointed therefor in like manner.

2. And be it enacted. That the levy court of Baltimore county
be and they are hereby authorised, in case the said George. Wil-
liams, Amos Williams, Columbus O'Donnell, and Elliott
O'Donnell, or either of them, or their heirs, should require it by
a petition in writing at any time hereafter, when in their judg-
ment it can be done without injury to the public, to make the res-
pective warehouses of said Amos A. Williams, George Williams,
Columbus O'Donnell, and Elliott O'Donnell, separate and distinct
warehouses for the inspection of tobacco, and that when so sepa-
rated, inspectors may be appointed for each, and they shall each
be entitled to all the privileges, and subject to all the, rules and
regulations prescribed, or hereafter to be prescribed by law, for
the regulation of similar establishments in the city of Baltimore.
