Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said president and di-
rectors may call for and demand from the stockholders, tak-
ing such augmented stock, payment therefore in the manner
and with the penalties and modes of enforcing them, pre-
scribed by the eleventh section of the act to which this is
a further supplement.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the penalties, forfeitures
and provisions, for compelling payment of the same, pre-
scribed by the thirteenth section of the act to which this is
a supplement, against the wilful pollution of the water of
Jone's Falls, be and the same are hereby extended, to the
wilful pollution of any of the branches or streams running
into said Jone's Falls between the breast of the dam of the
said company, crossed by Belvedere street, (heretofore
known as Keller and Forman's dam, ) and the north boundary
line of the city of Baltimore, where it crosses the said
Falls, and, if any person or persons, shall throw any dead
animal or any impure faeted or noxious animal or vegetable
substance into any of the aforesaid tributary branches or
streams, or shall wash the skin of any dead animal therein,
or shall erect any privy or other nuisance on or over any
of the said branches or streams, or shall cause or permit the
wash, drainage or discharge of or From any tannery, slaugh-
ter House, stables, privy or other factory or premises from
which corrup offensive or noxious animal or vegetable mat-
ter may flow to run into any of the aforesaid tributary
branches or streams, the person or persons so offending
shall be subject to all the penalities and forfeitures, provided
by the said thirteenth section of the act to which this is a
supplement, against polluting the waters of the main stream
of Jone's Falls to be recovered by warrant in the manner
therein prescribed.

CHAPTER 80.

 

An act entitled, an act for the relief of Sarah E. Taylor
of Cecil County.

Passed Jan.
15, 1844.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of Cecil county, be and they are
hereby authorised and empowered to levy annually upon
the assessable property of Cecil county, the sum of twenty
dollars, to be paid to Rebecca Harris, for the use and
maintainence of the said Sarah E. Taylor.
