To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:

I, BERTRAM L. BOONE, II., SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE
OF MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section
203 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
edition) DO HEREBY CERTIFY, That at an election held in the
City of Mt. Rainier, Prince George's County, Maryland, May
2, 1.949, an Act known as Chapter 179 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1949, was submitted to the voters of
Mt. Rainier, for their adoption or rejection under the pro-
visions thereof, said Act being:

An Act increasing the salaries of the Mayor and Council-
men of the Town of Mt. Rainier.

AND I DO CERTIFY, That at said election 1185 votes were cast
in favor of the adoption of Chapter 179 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1949, 552 votes were cast against the
adoption of said Act; a majority being cast for the adoption
of the said referred law it has therefore been ratified by the
voters of Mt. Rainier.
