SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law, and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and being passed upon a yea and nay vote, supported by
three-fifths of all of the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 334.

(Senate Bill 383)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 11 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Frederick County", sub-title "Brunswick", sub-heading
"Taxing Power", said new section to be known as Section
48A and to follow immediately after Section 48 of said
Article, authorizing the Mayor and Council of Brunswick
to exempt certain hospitals, factories, and charitable
institutions from certain taxes or charges.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added
to Article 11 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title "Frederick County", sub-title
"Brunswick", sub-heading "Taxing Power", said new sec-
tion to be known as Section 48A, to follow immediately
after Section 48 of said Article, and to read as follows:

48A. The Mayor and Council of Brunswick may, in
their discretion, by general ordinance exempt from any or
all municipal taxes or other municipal charges any or all
of the taxable property of any hospitals, factories, or char-
itable institutions located within the corporate limits of
said town.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1st, 1939.
