240A. The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
County are hereby directed to appropriate annually from the
general funds of the county the sum of $5, 000 annually be-
ginning in the year 1940 for the support and maintenance of
"The Public Library Association of Annapolis and Anne Arun-
del County, Incorporated", and the sum of $l, 000 annually
beginning in the year 1940 for the support and maintenance of
the Public Library of Glen Burnie, and to provide for such
appropriations in their annual levy.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1939.

CHAPTER 133.
(House Bill 300)

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Board of County Com-
missioners of Montgomery County in its discretion to borrow
upon the faith and credit of said County to the amount of
Seventy-five Thousand Dollars ($75, 000. 00), and to issue
and sell bonds therefor, the proceeds thereof to be used by
the Board of County Commissioners of Montgomery County
to pay the State Roads Commission of Maryland for the
construction of Kensington Parkway, within the Maryland-
Washington Metropolitan District in Montgomery County,
to authorize the Board of County Commissioners of Mont-
gomery County to construct the said Kensington Parkway,
in the event that the State Roads Commission shall, for any
reason, refuse to construct the same; to provide generally
for the payment of interest on the said bonds and the prin-
cipal thereof by the levy of taxes upon the Maryland-Wash-
ington Metropolitan District in Montgomery County or if
such is insufficient upon the whole of Montgomery County
for the deficiency, and to provide that this Act shall be
passed as an emergency measure.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Board of County Commissioners of Montgomery
County be, and it is hereby, authorized and empowered in its
discretion to issue serial coupons bonds on the faith and credit
of said County, to the amount of Seventy-five Thousand Dollars
($75, 000. 00), par value, said bonds to be issued in denomina-
tions of One Hundred Dollars ($100. 00) or any multiple
