words "For City Improvement Loan, " with a blank square
opposite at the right of said words, and immediately there-
under shall be the following words, "Against City Improve-
ment Loan, " with a blank square opposite at the right of said
words.

And in the event that said election shall be held at the same
time that another or a regular town election is held, said words
and blank, squares shall be printed on the same ballot for said
election, and the officials in charge of said election shall act
as officials of this election, and said votes shall be canvassed
at the same time and in the same manner as are votes for the
said election.

And in the event that said election shall be held at some
time other than when another or a regular election is held, the
poll books showing the registered voters of said town last regis-
tered shall be used.

In the event that at such election, the majority of the votes
cast on said questions shall be "For City Improvement Loan, "

then this Act shall be in full force and effect, but in the event
the majority of the votes cast shall be "Against City Improve-
ment Loan, ' then this Act shall be null and void and of no
effect.

SEC. 7. And be it farther enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety, and being
passed upon a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of
all of the members elected to each of the two Houses of the
General Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of
its passage.

CHAPTER 377.

AN ACT to authorize the Regents of the University of Mary-
land to cede to the United States, for use as an experiment
station, a certain tract of land in Prince George's County,
Maryland, belonging to the State of Maryland, and consti-
tuting a part of the campus of the University of Maryland.

WHEREAS, The United States Bureau of Mines contemplates
the construction on the campus of the University of Maryland
