year 1922 for a term of two years from the date of the ap-
pointment, and to provide rules and regulations governing the
duties of said constables and provide for their compensation
and the expenses of equipment, said constables to be known
and be designated as 'Montgomery County Police. ' So as to
provide for an increase in the number and compensation of
the members of said force, to relieve them from the necessity
of giving bond and to provide for an establishment of certain
stations, ' " so as to provide for an increase in compensation for
the privates of the Montgomery County Police Force and to
repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 11 of said
Act, " as all of said Acts were edited by Horace E. Flack, and
incorporated in Article 16 of the Public Local. Laws of Mary-
land, as Sections 691 to 701, both inclusive, be and the same
are hereby repealed and re-enacted, so as to read as follows:

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Montgomery
County are hereby authorized, empowered, and directed to ap-
point such number not to exceed 27 police officers for Mont-
gomery County at large, as they may deem necessary for the
better protection of persons and property in Montgomery
County, on the first Tuesday of July in the year 1931, for a
term of two years from the date of the appointment, and the
County Commissioners shall, on the first Tuesday of July in
every second year thereafter appoint such police officers, not
exceeding 27, for Montgomery County at large, as they may
deem necessary, for a term of two years, said police officers
so appointed to be known as and designated as "Montgomery
County Police, " and said County Commissioners are further
authorized and empowered to appoint four additional Police
Officers one of whom shall be a Sergeant to be known as
Sergeant of Park Policemen, said Park Police Officers to be
appointed at such time as the Maryland-National Capital Park
& Planning Commission shall certify that it is in readiness
to pay the compensation and expense of said Park Police, and
desires that they be assigned. Said Park Police Officers shall
be assigned to the patrolling of such parks, park roads and
drives as may be established in Montgomery County under
the authority of the Maryland-National Capital Park & Plan-
ning Commission and shall be under the control and super-
vision of the Chief of Police in Montgomery County, and shall
possess all the powers and authority of other Montgomery
County Police Officers. Their compensation, uniforms and
